Review of Hoi An Adventures Motorbike Day Tour

Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour

In the middle of my solo Vietnam backpacking trip, I was stuck with my itinerary planning. I knew I wanted to tour the country via a motorbike, but I didn’t know the roads too well and most importantly, didn’t know how to ride. After some Googling I came across a local company (in Hoi An/ Hue) called Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour. I took a flyer and decided to book two motorbike tours with them. I was taken from Hue to Hoi An Via the Hai Van Pass (tour 1) and from Hoi An to Phong Nha Via the West Ho Chi Minh Trail (tour 2). The co-founders of the company Chau and Rin, were my guides for these tours and after spending four days with them, I got a great chance to see what the company was all about. Here is my review of Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour.

Please note I have no affiliation or connection to Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour.

Customer Service

Chau and Rin provided a level of customer service that went beyond my expectations. At every stop, they made sure to help me take off my helmet. At every walking break, they made sure to carry my day bag for me. Whenever I wanted a photo, they would stop the bike and sometimes even climb up dangerous poles or hills to try and get a better shot for me. I spent four days with Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour, and for all four days, I was taken care of and treated with respect. I could tell that the team cared about my tour experience, and wanted to ensure that I enjoyed my time in Vietnam.

Safety

If you’re like me and have little experience riding or sitting on a motorbike, safety is understandably a big priority when it comes to selecting a motorbike tour company. I was worried too when I first signed up for my tour, but my concerns faded quickly. Chau and Rin had excellent knowledge of their motorbikes and the roads that they were driving on. I would see them avoiding even the smallest of obstacles such as rocks and twigs to ensure maximum safety. The ride through the West Ho Chi Minh trail, in particular, had some high elevation and rocky roads; Nevertheless, I felt safe and at ease for the entire journey.

Comfort of Bikes

One of my absolute favorite parts about Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour was the comfort of their bikes. The bikes that this company uses are the most comfortable bikes I’ve been on in my life. The passenger seat in the back is extra padded and has a backrest to avoid aches and pains in your back or butt. Their bikes also have raised seats that help you keep your balance during the ride. When doing a long full-day or multi-day tour, you will be grateful for the comfort of the company’s bikes.

4. Tour Size

Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour does not combine groups. Every tour is personal to you and your group’s needs. If you are solo traveler you are especially in luck  as you will essentially get a private tour of Vietnam at an affordable rate.

5. Hotels

Hotels are included in any of the multi-day bike tours booked with Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotels that I stayed at during my two-night three-day tour of the west Ho Chi Minh trail. Given that we were staying in some remote towns and areas, the hotels that the company provided me were clean, comfortable, and safe. By no means were the hotels luxury accommodations, but they were perfect for a comfortable night of sleep and relaxation.

6. Tour

Of course, above everything else, the most crucial component of a tour company is the tour itself. Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour knocks this one out of the park! Apart from the stunning rides, I learned so much about Vietnamese history, culture, and cuisine during my tours. We made many pitstops during our journeys, and Chau and Rin would go out of their way to find unique things to show me about their country. Both of their English skills were also excellent which made communication a lot easier.

The company offers several tours on their website, but they are also happy to work with you if you would like to customize your own route. I chose two of their pre-made tours and loved both experiences. Either way, you can’t go wrong with this company. If you want to understand Vietnam and see its true beauty and colors, take a tour with Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour!

Tip If you love history or are choosing one of the historical tours (Like the Ho Chi Minh Trail) I recommend asking for Chau as he has a great deal of historical knowledge.

7. Value

You might be able to find some cheaper bike tour companies if you shop around, but the value that you get with Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour is hard to beat. The first-class service, comfortable bikes, personal itineraries, and quality tours are worth the premium you will pay. For about $60-$70 a day, you will be taken care of to the fullest. Your only out-of-pocket expenses will be lunch and dinner ($4-$5 a day), everything else will be included in the price.

Overall

As my star ratings indicate, I love this company. Very rarely do I post company reviews on my blog, but Hoi An Adventures -Motorbike Day Tour amazed me enough to do so. I struggled to find any criticism with this company or its tours. If you want to experience Vietnam the right way, book a tour with this company! You won’t regret it!
